Overkill 2: Kill Madness

If usually, I play puzzle, adventure, simple platformer, music, arcade games. I also like RPG too, such as KRPG, but unfortunately never finished the game... Normally, I only play until 88-95% progress :P

And this time I try a new genre (game), a FPS (First-Person Shooter) game. I never pay attention about this genre before, moreover to play kind of this game cause I think it might be boring (okay... may be because I'm a girl :P). However, I definitely have wrong mind this time. I hooked up in to this... and I realize that a FPS game is so much fun to play.. (That's why my friend whos a girl too is so in love to play a fps game :D , and now i know how does it's feel.. :* seriously, it's really fun and challenging to play.. lol)

Okay, I tried Overkill 2 game. I might not ever play the first one (Overkill), but it doesn't matter, also I don't think the game has a sequel story line related into the first one. Cause the game is only shoot, shoot, and shoot, and survive as long as you can. I'll post some tips and trick of this game later. 

Overkill 2 has been released since late last month on some AppStore only. Finally, Craneballs released it worldwide on April 4.

There's no story line in this game. All you need to do is kill your enemies. There are 2 mode of the games, Battle mode and Survival Mode. The battle mode consists of 20 stages for each area (current version has 3 area, so total there're 60 battles). It's kind of Tower Defense game, which some wave (enemies) come to attack you, and you must survive till the wave cleared. And to defense your self, you need to shoot all of your enemies. Nah, here is the best part.

In the first time, I found it might bit weird for me to play, but it's really attract my reflex to shoot. So, after a few minutes, I know how to play the game properly.

The control are great , the left screen is to set the position of your gun, and the button in the right screen is for shooting. To reload the bullets, just shake your device or reload it manually using the reload button in the right side.

There're many kinds of enemies, and if you want to play the game and win it , all you need to do is learn how your enemies work and search their weakness. ;)

Some power ups box, such as Air-Strike (BOM), Healthy Box (+30% health), Armor are really useful during the game, so don't forget to shoot the boxes too when you see them.

In the survival mode, play and survive as long as you can. The health is based by your multiplier, in the first time you only got 2 multiplier, equip some armor or level up your rank to increase your multiplier. If your health is decreased to zero, your multiplier is decrease too, and you'll die whenever your multiplier goes 1. You can switch the gun during the gameplay, so you can easily shoot enemies with your favorite gun. Currently, I only have 3 guns, 2 of them is black market guns which I got for free (the developer is still generous, they give the premium gun for free). They are AK47 gold (can be used while you reach rank 8) and MP40 (rank 3). Not too bad, but as you play the harder level, their performance are bit dissapointed. (I know.. i know, better to buy another guns) but I prefer to save my money for buying the best gun of all may be I'll buy Famas (still need to level up my rank, since it only be used on rank 19), so right now I only use 3 of them and upgraded them to max for playing the game, may be will buy another one later... (I have spent my money to buy armors :'( need to gain more money)

The game is free-to-play. However, I don't think the IAP is agressive enough, there're about 30 kinds of guns in the shop, also Black Market guns. The game has 2 kinds of currency, coins and overkill medals. You'll get 5 medal for each time you level up or complete some missions. The coins which you can get is about 3000-5000 for each playing in battle mode, and relative for survival mode. Only, if you want to buy the best guns directly, you'll need to buy the IAP, but if not, the grinding is so much fun. Just do the grinding on survival mode. 

Unlock the survival mode on rank 10 (if i'm not wrong, forget for this one), 15, and 20.

In the shop, you can also prepare your army from head to toe (build your best armor to defense yourself). Buy some grenade or medkit if necessary.

Right now, I'm in level 15, and I still need some friends (Ps: friends can help you to revive / continue the game without pay any medals), if you need an ally, just add my GC ID okay... Don't forget to mention it on your friend request message, so I can know if you play Overkill 2 too. :)

Graphic: 4.5 of 5 (the graphics are good, some explode effects make the games more alive, the bloody thing also nice :) )

Sound/ Music: 4 of 5 (No need to background music afterall, the bullets shooting sound also breath sound effect are already good for kind of this game)

Gameplay: 4.5 of 5 (Controls are good enough, can set the sensitivity on options menu. Bit monotone gameplay, but still fun to play. IAP are not agressive....Totally, a  nice game to play)

Replay Value: 4 of 5 (Kind of replay value here is the survival mode, try to be the best in the leaderboard. I wish they integrated the global leaderboard into the GameCenter Leaderboard too. The various missions make this game has more good replay value.)

Overall: 4.25 of 5 

Overkill 2 is a good FPS game to play, though it'll bit monotonous to see the same environments during the 20 stages. Fortunately, the challenging gameplay can hide this minus side, many kind of customization guns (the upgrade) make the game more interesting. So, what can i say anymore, just try this game and decide it by yourself :)

Nimble Quest Tips n Tricks

Before, you say anything about this post. I just want to say the disclaimer about this post. The tips and tricks here are based by my observation. Because of that, I'm not 100% guarantee if the tricks or tips is official/qualified enough for some people. Some of them might think cheap of this post. However, I'll try my best to bring the tips n tricks and I'll update it if I get more info.. :)

#Tips 1

THE LEADER

If you have unlock some characters, choose your leader wisely.
Here, I love to use archer for the early time playing before I unlocked Uther, the champion.
Archer (Merida) has lightly armored, but she has far attack range. The trick, do the attack from back side of your enemies. Avoid to attack from frontal side of your enemies , especially if your enemy is knight. I sure you'll be dead easily.
If you use Uther, he can attack from frontal side with his long lance and it has far and wide range. So far, I just can tell you this one is the best leader. (Despite, I haven't unlock all the heroes, only unlocked till the 7th hero). He has medium armored though it's written that he has heavy armored, but I don't think so, if it strong enough. Why, I'm not recommend the other? Actually, It's depend by your choice. However, I think the others are strong enough to attack, but they have less defense than they both. At least till now (I'll update if I've unlocked it all ;D)
Trick: if you want to last longer, use the one which has the strong defense and wide/ far range attack. The others one like Gizmo and Blaze are great for the middle part, not the tail. Both has strong damage with side play attack. The tail can be archer, or knight. Unfortunately, this kind of style is depend by your lucky, caused you'll get the heroes randomly.. :(

#Tips 2

UPGRADE YOUR POWERUPS AND CHARACTERS

That's why we need to collect gems. The better you play, more gems you'll get. Use the gems especially to upgrade the power ups. Firstly, upgrade the potion to increase your HP, don't forget the shield. The others are also important too. So, don't hesitate to upgrade it all.

# Tips 3

PAY ATTENTION WITH THE TYPE OF YOUR ENEMIES

After you upgraded your power ups and your characters, what must you do next?
Learn, how the enemies attack. Yeah!
Example:
- Never attack the rats from frontal side. Although, it's a weak enemies, but it run faster than you. So, be careful, if you hit it. You'll die cheaply.
Trick: use side attack to defeat rats. Can be used bomb or blazer to hit. The leader can be hit from frontal but choose the one which has far range attack, and quickly turn right or turn left. If some of your allies was defeated, at least the leader still alive and you can collect your heroes again.
- Careful, with spiders, some of them are poisoning , or their webs can make us move slowly.
Trick: hit the spider from behind or side. Can be from frontal too. The effective one is back side, if your leader is strong enough, use the side attack if you have blazer or bomber or the one which has big damage.
- Knight and princess
They have healing ability.
Trick: Try to attack from side way or from behind, by using the one which has big damage weapon. Avoid to attack from frontal , especially for knight. He has wide and far range attack, also activate side range attack. So, watch out ! and take your steps carefully.

#Tips 4

BUFF IS NEEDED... SOMETIMES

Buffs is used as a headstart, can be useful sometimes if you use it properly, caused it costed you token not gem. So, be wise. Luckily, tokens can be get by watching ads video (sometimes the video is available more than 5 times,which mean you'll get 5 tokens ;) or get it during the gameplay.

Nimble Quest: Bring Back the Snake Game Memories

Nimble Quest, from Nimble Bit brings back my memories about old snake game. Last time, I played the snake game was 11 or 12 y.o. A bit long time ago since my last played. Back to the iOS, I knew if there're many kind of snake games on iOS. However, it just doesn't impress me. I just think about other games with modern gameplay ,idea, style, graphic, new genre, etc. Actually, I really love to play new games, but I'm not a kind of person who's easily to hook with a game. I have so many games on my iPad, but only few of them which I played everyday. I need to get the feeling... #lmao, the sense of the game to really enjoy it, that's why I only have few games which long lasting stay on my iPad.. :) #ps: moreover, some of them , I haven't played it yet. Only bought , n kept it... I bought them mostly caused by Sale... or hooked by the screen shots... But, don't have enough time to play them or may be bit lost of interest after buying @.@ dunno why (#sad)

Alright alright, never mind it. Nimble quest is a game which has similar gameplay with old snake game. Actually, before Nimble Quest was launched, iOS already has Call of Snake with the same gameplay. So, what's make this game different from Old Snake Game? (I won't compare this game with CoS)
- Nimble Quest has RPG setting elements. You can play as archer, knight, wizard, mage, etc. The snake here is made by the characters ( archer, slasher, bomber, etc).
Each character has different skills, you can upgrade it by pay with some gems, or defeat your enemies to upgrade your skill. Unlike , the regular snake gameplay. The snake here ( Nimble Quest) is limited long. The most long is 15 characters only. However, the long number of your snake is depend by how much stage you have been conquered. In the first time, you will play as knight only. After you unlock more character , you can choose which one to be your leader.

- The gameplay is similar like snake gameplay, don't hit your enemies or walls. Luckily, the snake here can automatically attacks the enemies. How they defeat the enemies are depend by your characters's skill. I'll post some tips and trick how to play Nimble Quest later Tips n Tricks here...
If regular snake's game use fruits for growing. Here, you can get more characters randomly after defeat some enemies, also some part of your snake can be defeated, but it doesn't affect your snake as long as your leader keeps alive.

- Collect gems, and tokens during the game. Gems are used for upgrading the power ups or your characters. Tokens are used to play in the arena (bring the name of your guild... Yeah!) or you can use tokens to replay the current stage when you dead.
Tokens can be get during the gameplay or buy it from IAP or by watching 10 seconds ads video ;)

Graphic: 4/5 (Clear pixelated graphic)
Sound/ Music: 4/5 (Nostalgic, I remember Mario Bross when I listened to the victory music here.
Gameplay: 4/5 (Swipe control is good enough, great to played on portrait also landscape view. A remake of old game with modern features... :D. However, there's no checkpoint. So, the game is kinda similar with endless game but in stages steps. However, it's still challenging enough, though sometimes kinda boring to repeat the same stage from the beginning :P )
Replay Value: 4/5 ( it's great to be played even if you only has 5 minutes spare time ;) )
Overall: 4/5
(Despite of being a freemium game, Nimble Quest is good enough to brings back the old memories of Snake game with some RPG elements (here is the characters). However, if NimbleBit can brings the new features in the next update, like online multiplayer as both side (enemies also heroes). I believe this game will be more hilarious to be played.. :)
Ps: Only few days since the official released, n the players almost 500.000 players right now... A great beginning ... :D

Seabirds: Cut the Fish for Feed the Ice Cream to Walrus

This game is a new innovative puzzle game. The combination between logic and velocity I think. It's look alike Cut the Rope game play but not same.
When Cut the Rope ask us for cutting the rope of the candy to fed Nom2. In this game, we must click the fish net to feed the penguins for feeding IceCream to Walrus. You must do that as fast as possible for the best medals.
It's become more difficult in more levels you play. Fortunately, there's a hint video for help you solve the game, but you must pay 3 fishes to unlock the hint.
Every best time you got will unlock a new action of the Walrus or other friends. See the unlock actions in Friends site. Every friend has 6 different actions. Unlock the action every you finished the level. There are 6 worlds with 12 stages inside come with 2 bonus levels. Total it has 64 levels.
This game is quite difficult but so challenging. This game will bring you to play and solve every puzzle more and more. Come with nice graphics makes your gaming experience more pleasant.

This game won't let you happy after your victory.... Not as easy as it looks. You must feed the penguin with the match color. Blue fish for blue penguin, green for green and red for red. Every success feeding a penguin, you will get ice cream as a result for feeding your friends (walrus, mammoth, etc.) to complete the level.
Easy?!? Not really... There's a hungry shark which ready to eat the penguins. Though, you've success feeding your penguin, if the penguin jumps when the shark is nearby. You will be failed. The shark will eat your penguins and sorry, you must try again... =P

Huff... Unfortunately, this game has ads.... Quite big banner ads... Though, that's not too much annoying. You must pay at least $0.99 to remove the ads n you get 30 fish too for unlock the second new world. The cost will increasing as you unlock the new one. Get the fishes is kinda hard too. In addition if you use the hint button. You must replay the game sometimes for gaining more fishes to unlock the new world..

Eager to try this game ... Believe me, despite of it has ads... This game is nice to be try... It's integrated with Game Center too.. =D

A new adventure arcade game which available at AppStore. Do you know Frisbee Forever? The game play of Phoenix Bird is similar with Frisbee Forever. You just need to tilt your device to play this game. However, I believe you will feel bit difficult with the acceleration with the gameplay. You really need balancing your device to play this game. I need to retry this game few times to learn how to play properly. Finally, after several tries, I know how to play this game well.
Unlike other tilt game, there's no sensitivity setting for this game. No calibration setting too for your device. At the first time, this game has bug about the game play.
Unfortunately, I was wrong. All you need to do for playing this game masterly is placed your device in horizontal position with your hands. Then try to fly the Phoenix through the gem's way by tilting your device slowly. The Phoenix will fly balancing when u took the gems properly. Use the blue ball to boost your Phoenix in gem's way. Your Phoenix will fly faster through the gems in several seconds.
Unlock the power ups Magnet for easier fly experience. Make sure to take the magnet power ups and the Phoenix will fly easier.
You can unlock another Phoenix too, cost 1000 gems for every colors.. ;) The Phoenix here doesn't have any specialities or abilities to fly. Upgrade the boost until level 4 and Magnet until level 3.
This game has 7 worlds, and 10 stages for each world. Unlock the next world using some gems and require you to finish the game until level 7 in previous world.
The graphics? Quite nice 3D but not too smooth. For me, I think this game size is too big about 210 MB after installed and after you mastering the game play it will be so easy to finished all the world, I have finished all the world and I hope more levels coming soon in the next update.
Over all, although it's a freemium app, I don't think you need any purchased from this game... lol Ps: there's an Ads remover by IAP, but I haven't seen any ads yet.. :)
One more this game is integrated with Leaderboard and Achievement in Game Center and it has big points for each achievement you have unlock... Yeah ! 13 achievement for 1000 points... Wow!

Fluffy Diver: An Arcade Game with Relaxing Music

Actually, Fluffy Diver is just an ordinary arcade game. The reason why I review it here, cause I want to share about the back song which so relaxing for me.
This game was made by Korean publisher. So, the back song is kinda brings Korean's nuance ( Korean's music genre).
Unfortunately, I can't share the audio here. However, I just can share the screen shots only.
The game play is so simple. Just tap to dive the sea. The graphics is quite nice too, 4 from 5 stars I think. The fluffy icon looks cute.
Unfortunately, I kinda hard to gain the fluffy's life from this game. Do you know Whale Trail? Yes, this game is same like that, just a bit different. Fluffy needs to eat shell, or other (depend with the character which you used)
I like the flying effect from the fluffy, but as I said in above, I really like the back song of this game, that's made me want to play this game again and again, though I never get enough high score.... :( so hard to play... Need some tricks.
Like other arcade game, there are power ups which you can upgrade to make it last longer or some utilities for single use (in here is for 3 games).
There are other characters too. No special abilities from the characters. The difference just their appearance only.
Oh, one more this game is integrated with Game Center. There's some achievement and leaderboard.
This game is freemium, buy the Pro version if you want to unlock all the characters.
The freemium version also provide stars with buying IAP.

Monster Life: Build Your Own Ally Monsters

Another simulation game from Gameloft. This game is a freemium app.
However, I believe this game will so addicted. Unlike usual freemium app which must connect to the server for playing. You don't need to connect the Internet for playing. You just need connect the Internet to share your score or visit your neighbors, or when u purchased some gems ;D only.
What about the graphic...?
For small size download n become about 175 MB after installed , you got great HD smooth graphics.
Don't say the pics look too stiff with some corner in monster's bodies.
Come on it's a paper world, which monsters are built with papers.
For the graphics , I'll give 2 thumbs up for Gameloft.

Build n pet your monsters. Train and take care your monsters. You can gain some coins by challenge your monsters with other monsters in fighting area.
You will get 5 gems every level up. Gain some friend stones when u give or accepted gifts from your friends. Use the friend stones to expand your ranch or fighting with other monsters.
Just need few minutes to learn how to play. Oh, one more you don't need to wait your building to be built perfectly.
There are 4 elements of monsters. Plant, Water, Fire, and Air.
Unfortunately, so far as I know , there's no breeding facility. U just can get great monsters by buying only using gems. Gems monsters have greater abilities than coins monsters. However, there's no problem if u can set strategy for fighting, you won't be a loser.
Don't forget to feed , train/ play , clean or pet your monsters sometimes to increase your monster level. When your monster is level up. It has greater ability than before.
So, I believe it will be great if you try to play this game. Unfortunately, this doesn't integrate with Game Center, but, just try it and u'll be amazed by that.

What I want to review here is not Tap Tap Revenge... As you know, I like music games, and I found this Asian app for my iPad.
Yes, this is not a universal language app, but I believe you still can play this app without understand the meaning of the language.
The title is written in Chinese Lang.

Yeah, that's the name of the app. Although, I have Chinese blood but I'm not too smart to read that. However, I promised I'll mastered that language someday, as I proud to be Chinese. Ps: I don't live at China or the country which use Chinese Lang. That's why my Chinese Lang was so bad... :(

Why I want to review this app?
I don't know exactly when this app was released. I just played this at May 2012, and the latest updated is on August 3,2012.
The update just change the dancing songs, not too much as my wishes in my previous review.. lol
What I love from this Boomboom app *okay just call this app like that for make it easier to call* is the amazing 3D graphics.
The dancer here is a girl which u can personalize her appearance at first time only when u registering your user name. Huh,,, actually,I wish I can change her outfits, hair, etc.
Okay, despite of the character... How about the game play?
Come on, the instruction is using Chinese characters. I can't read that. Same as me, but I believe u will be easy to learn. The instruction is user friendly, use a short video tutorial which guide you to imitate the move.
So easy to learn.

May be you're not too familiar with the songs,right? I wish for the next update we can using our own songs. However, it still okay to play with these songs.

U still be able to play another song but you must pay 5-9 coins for each play or mastered the song instantly costs 120 coins.

Log in everyday for getting 20 extra coins. At first time you will got 200 coins. Quite enough to try playing each songs.
This games unlike the other dancing game. The dancer's movement always different for each song. This what I love from this game. The 3D graphic from this game was so awesome...

The background story from this game made me curious to play this game.

Firstly, this game was cost $1.99 , after I wait for several weeks. It's become free app. However, according to my thinking, it's a freemium app... Must be happy or not...
Alright, despite of the freemium app. This app still comfortable to be play. Though, this isn't truly HD as the description, at least it provide full screen playing.
There is ads in top left corner, don't worry... It's kinda small and not too disturbing you while you're playing.
There is store too. You don't need to buy from this store if you're not an addicted for this game.
There are Big Net to catch the biggest fish easier, wait easier? Yeah, that's mean if you can use regular net to catch the biggest fish too, bit u need a trick to did that.
The Big Purse cost 10 coin for each click. Hmm, I don't think I need this. Jean is a generous girlfriend she will give small purse cost 1 coin for click. So how many coins you get, it depends your quick tap in the purse.
Ballon... Na, for this one u won't see this forever if u don't purchase it.
This ballon bring a big coin purse.
Wait... So far, u must be guessing for what the coins are used?
Power ups??
Sorry, you're wrong at this time. The coins are used to use net.
1 coin for the smallest net and 7 coins for the biggest net (The Big Net in the store which available by purchase $0.99 is the most biggest net in this game which cost 8 coins for each use)

What is the different?
Easy... Use the small net to catch the smallest fishes, it cost one coin.
The bigger net for bigger fish. Nah, for the biggest fish if you don't love to purchase anything at store, what u need to do is use the seventh net twice to catch that fish. I sure u can. For the biggest fish u will got 16 coins as the reward.
Not enough coins for playing? Just wait until Jean come and drop a small purse. Click that purse as quick as u can. 1 coin for each click.
I sure u will be have enough coins to play until you bored.. LOL
There's level up too in this game.. What does it use? Unfortunately, I haven't know it yet... :P My guess it's like level up the skill of throwing the nets or something similar..

Bored cause playing alone? Don't worry there's a multiplayer too which can be played by two persons in the same device.
Overall, for a freemium app, this isn't bad. This app is different from another freemium app like Temple Run, Subway Surfer, Team Lava's Games, etc. So I give this 3 from 5 stars. If there isn't ads n become the truly HD, maybe I'll give 4 from 5 stars... LOL
Unfortunately, this app doesn't integrated with Game Center or Open Feint...

Cordy Sky another game from Cordy Series
So far, just two games available from Cordy Series; Original Cordy and Cordy Sky
What I want to review here is Cordy Sky... Do you know Doodle Jump? Pepe Up?
Cordy Sky is similar like them. This app was released at March, 2012.
This app tells about Cordy who wants to jump to his plane for go to planet 2.
All you need to do just keep Cordy jump as high as u can.
*hmm, I think I have written this sentence in several times ;P*
There's three way to play this game.
- Classic,
- Tilt,
- Slide,
What I love to use is TILT... lol It caused I'm lazy... ☆〜（ゝ。∂）

Cordy Sky has better graphic than the other similar games which I said above.
It has beautiful environment as the background. There are some utilities too like costumes, colors, and power ups.
Collect gears as many as u can for buying the utilities. Like another freemium app, you can get gears too by purchasing in- app purchase.

Tap the screen to begin the game, tilt your device, use magnet (in power ups ) to gain more gears. Jump Jump and Jump! Don't fall!
Because, I just downloaded this app yesterday, my score has too low... Just 946 M.
When u got enough high score , you have chance to get the prize. Just click the prize button and you get random prize can gears or utilities.

Ps: Anyway, I haven't know how much the minimum high score for get the prize*

Jump Cordy at the jumping ball, jumping platform, u can fly to using volt token... Use this power ups at emergency situation, it means when u will fall down click the volt token inthe right side. It will boost Cordy to the up.
