Introducing my New Blog

Hi, everyone I decided to make a new blog... In this blog, I mainly focus into indie games on iOS platform or I can say it as hidden gem. That's why my new blog named Indie Gems . Actually, it's not for indie developers only, but for all small developers with potential and great iOS apps to be showed. Here is my introducing post

I'll try to keep both of my blogs up to date. However, it's not easy enough since I'm still in school and I have a part-time job too. Your support will keep me along in to this. If you found a great indie iOS / Android game, please let me know. I'll try to put it in to my blog.
I know if my blog is so far from the word of "Perfect", but I'll try my best to make this blog better than before.
If you like my blog, please help me to share and spread it to the world. You're not help me only but also other people, especially for indie developers.

Why I choose iOS/ Android?
Because, I love to play games especially on iOS. Beside, I've limited budget and can't afford PC game's price yet. That's why I choose mobile platforms. People often look into popular or experienced developers only. Sometimes they're forget if indie or new developers can make great games too. That's why I prefer Indie first..

In this blog, I won't post about games only, you might found other informations here. However, in my other blog, you'll  find all about games only, especially indie games. That's why I decided to separate it. Don't worry if you're too lazy to visit my other blog, I'll put the link to the post here. :)

Pembajakkan: Hal yang Terlalu Sulit untuk Dihilangkan

Sedikit berbeda dari biasanya, kali ini saya ingin menyampaikan unek-unek saya tentang pembajakan.
Apa itu pembajakan ? Bajak-membajak di sawah? Eng... Bukan itu yang saya maksud. Pembajakan di sini merupakan tindakan menggunakan / mengambil suatu produk tanpa ijin yang jelas. Saya tidak berkata bahwa saya 100% pure bersih dari benda bajakan, namun saya hanya kecewa ketika mendengar sebagian orang Indonesia yang berkata: "Ngapain beli kalo ada yang gratis?"

Damn, that quote is really broke my heart. . . Yes... Yes that's true, but...
Okay, saya tidak munafik, kalau saya juga menggunakan benda-benda bajakan. Namun, saya berpikir, saya kuliah pada jurusan IT yang pada akhirnya terkait secara langsung atau tidak, suatu hari nanti saya mungkin akan membuat app sebagai mata pencaharian utama saya. (Pemikiran yang egois nampaknya... Come on, ini pekerjaan saya, dan saya bekerja untuk mencari uang).
Saya bisa membayangkan posisi saya jika saya adalah seorang developer yang appsnya dibajak. Oh, man... I got no money, no food, no life then Dead :P

Kemudian saya berpikir mungkin itu sebabnya, perindustrian di Indonesia agak susah maju. Sebagian orang terlalu banyak memegang prinsip, "GRATIS PANGKAL KAYA"
Jika gratis di sini, gratis dalam arti sebenarnya , saya tidak masalah dan justru mendukungnya. Namun, nyatanya gratis di sini: mencari benda bajakan.

Oke, jika kita mendownload suatu lagu secara gratis melalui internet, saya masih bisa memaklumi hal itu. Salah satu sisi positifnya, lagu penyanyi tersebut lebih cepat terkenal, dan tangga chartnya pun cepat naik. Penyanyi tersebut juga bisa diundang ke sana kemari untuk mengisi acara.
Lalu mendownload film bajakan. Paling tidak sebagian dari kita masih ada yang menonton di bioskop bukan?
Namun lain halnya dengan suatu aplikasi. Jika kalian berkata, pembajakan itu membuat suatu app terkenal. Ya, memang benar. tapi, kita tidak bisa melakukan hal sama seperti yang penyanyi lakukan pada kelanjutannya. Apps juga tidak bisa diputar di tempat lain. Pemberian lite version atau demo adalah salah satu cara menghindari pembajakan. Mungkin kalian belum punya cukup uang untuk membeli suatu app. Oke lah, jika menggunakan bajakan terlebih dahulu, namun hal itu bukan untuk selamanya atau kalian juga bisa menggunakan freeware dengan fasilitas sejenis.
Bayangkan saja, jika semua orang di Indonesia selalu berharap gratis (memakai barang bajakan). Bagaimana Teknologi di Indonesia bisa maju? Untuk apa ada kuliah jurusan IT?
Kami yang belajar dan berkarya pada bidang teknologi dan perangkat lunak, mencari sesuap nasi melalui karya yang kami buat. Namun, apa yang kami dapat?
Software hasil karya kami dibajak. Pembuatan suatu app bukan lah peristiwa 1 atau 2 hari yang mudah seperti membalikkan telapak tangan.
Ada perjuangan keringat, waktu, ilmu, tenaga, dan uang yang dikeluarkan untuk melakukan hal itu.
Oke, kalian bisa bilang, "Kalau ga mau dibajak, cari pekerjaan lain ... (Maksudnya jangan bikin apps, kembangkan yang lain seperti hardware atau perangkat kerasnya saja)

Baik, kita tidak akan bekerja sebagai pembuat aplikasi dan kalian jangan pernah lagi berpikir bahwa negara ini bisa bersaing dalam kancah Internasional di bidang Teknologi.
Sekarang ini Teknologi kian maju, kita semua juga ingin maju, kita belajar dari negara-negara maju, membuat aplikasi perangkat lunak yang dipergunakan untuk kemajuan bangsa. Jika kalian berpikir bahwa aplikasi itu tidak penting, kalian salah besar. Kehadiran suatu komputer atau mesin tidak akan berarti tanpa suatu pemrograman di dalamnya. Jika kita sukses, kita bangga karena bisa membawa harum nama bangsa. Kalian sebagai WNI pasti turut bangga bukan?
Tapi apa? Nampaknya masih banyak orang-orang di sekeliling kita kurang peduli akan hal itu.
Mereka hanya melihat dari hasil akhir bukan dari proses perjuangan yang dilakukan.
Mereka tidak menghargai kerja keras kami. Mereka melihat kami dari permukaan luarnya saja.

Saya menulis hal ini bukan karena saya kuliah pada jurusan IT. Saya juga bukan seorang developer. Saya menulis ini karena saya prihatin dengan sikap sebagian orang Indonesia yang kurang menghargai hasil karya orang lain. Jika gratis yang mereka cari memang asli berasal dari developer (promo code, game freemium, freeware, shareware) saya tidak masalah. Namun jika gratis yang diharapkan adalah hasil bajakan seperti (jailbreak, hacking, dsb) , saya sudah tidak bisa bilang apa-apa lagi. Kalian sendiri yang berhak memutuskan apakah hal ini memang layak atau tidak?

Jika kalian mengeluh, akan maraknya game-game freemium akhir-akhir ini. Sampai Real Racing 3 untuk mobile yang sebenarnya layak pada kisaran $4.99-7.99. Kenapa mereka memilih freemium dengan segudang IAP di dalamnya?

Mungkin ini didasari oleh sifat kebanyakan orang yang suka akan gratisan. Jadi, kembali lagi ke diri kita sendiri , bagaimana sikap kita sebenarnya...
Memang sulit untuk menghapus pembajakan. Kalian mungkin tidak bisa menghapus hal itu dengan mudah. Beberapa pihak juga dapat kehilangan pekerjaan karena penghapusan pembajakan. (Contoh: Penjual DVD dan CD bajakan)
Namun paling tidak, mulailah dari diri kalian sendiri, kurangi penggunaan barang atau aplikasi bajakan.
Perluas persepsi kalian akan apa itu makna GRATIS sebenarnya. Lebih mulia menunggu diskon daripada mengambil gratis yang tidak sepantasnya :p

Vegetarian... Why Not?

I just wanna share my impression about being a vegetarian. I don't understand why some people keep saying something non-sense consequence about being a vegetarian. My friend said, she can't being a vegetarian caused her family are afraid about her growth. Hmm, I don't think so. Come on.... Let's clear this opinion.

What is Vegetarian?

Vegetarian, is kind of diet method   No, I won't say that it's a diet method, I prefer say being a vegetarian is a life style. A life style that you don't eat any food which contain meat, seafood or anythig that related to animal products. To be honest , there are many kinds of vegetarianism, such as Ovo vegetarianism (eat such as egg product but not dairy product, Lacto vegetarianism (eat such as dairy product but not egg product), Vegan (doesn't eat any egg, dairy, honey and anything which comes from animal), Buddhist Vegetarianism (For this one, I'll tell from Maitreya Buddhism's point of view. In here, there's 3 steps of vegetarian. First is learning, in the learning part. You still allowed to eat allium family (garlic, onion, shallots, chives, scallions, etc), egg products (biscuits, cakes) and dairy products (milk). The second part, you'll learn to avoid any of allium family products, less eggs and less dairy product. The last part is try to become a vegan).

Why vegetarian?

I've been a vegetarian since I was 11 y.o. FYI, before i learned to being a vegetarian. I dislike any kind of vegetables. Seriously... I hate any kind vegetables especially green vegetables. Its tasted weird on my tongue.. :p

Till one day, my mom gave me green eggplant to be eat. I tried it, then I realised that's delicious.. :). Since then I tried to eat more vegetables, I tried to eat no meat twice a week for the first 6 months, 3 times a week for next 6 months, and keep on till finally I don't eat any meat or animal (fish, seafood, etc) anymore or I can say that finally, I can be a vegetarian. Yeah , may be I'm still in the first part on learning part, I still eat onion, eggs, and milk product. If you ask the reason why I can being a vegetarian... Let me tell you then..

Simply, the main reason is a love. Everybody, No every creature has a main right is called Life, which it's a gift from God. You have family right? Animal also has family. How do you feel if you lost one of your family members? Sad, pain right? Animal also has the same feel as us. It can feels sad, pain, angry, afraid. However, what can they do? When they see us (human) took one of their family, they're become angry, they will do strange movements also some of them scream on their own languages also cry, but we don't know it. We think they're angry to us (Yeah, that's true if they're angry to us) and that's make we're quickly to took their life asap before something unwillingness happened.
Don't you feel guilty by doing that? they were killed then you eat them. You might feel guilty when you stole something, sad when you lost something precious, right? However, what have you done now? After you killed them, you ate them, means you've stolen their precious life for satisfying your tongue only.

How do you feel, don't you feel poor to the animal? Have you seen killing process in slaughther house (butcher)? They're afraid, they cry... But nobody care.. They have a big pain in their heart, but nobody know. We only know to get money from selling them. We only know how delicious them of being a food. We only think that they're life for us.

Please, don't be like that. They also have a life. They want to have a free life, not live in a narrow stalls like this. You can see, there's no happy feel in their faces . All only pain, fear and sadness.. :'( They only hope, please don't take my life... :(

Non-sense fact about being a Vegetarian

I wanna make clear some people's opinion about weird consequence for being a vegetarian.

- A vegetarian person can't have male child?

No, child, no matter female or male. It's all come from God. It's a gift and only God know about it

- A vegetarian person can't grows properly. Kinda short.

No, I'm vegetarian, and I grow properly. My height is 162 cm. That's average for asian female person. So, dunno from where this kind of opinion comes. Height is influenced by biologic (generation) factor.

- A vegetarian child can't be clever

A research told that  Eskimo people (who eat meat, etc) has shorter life than Hun Za people (who are mostly vegetarian). Albert Einstein also a vegetarian, and he isn't a stupid person. Phytagoras also a vegetarian. He was smart right? Btw, we can't count the sideway of triangle without his theorem.. :p

- Is that safe (healthy) enough for being a vegetarian?

Of course, I almost never come to a hospital for a serious disease. People who did vegetarian's life style properly has fewer risk for getting any disease than them who doesn't.

- Vegetables also creature, why we can eat that but not with animal?

hmm, kinda stupid question. Okay, you can plant vegetables right? That's mean you make a life for plants, you create it, not give the life. Plants can't move likes animals do, also actually, plant is made as food sources (Herbivore). However, Can you make a life for animal? Animals got their life from God like us. They can feel pain, sad, happy, afraid. The same feeling as us can feel too.

- How about carnivore animal, they're allowed to eat meat, why we can't?

Seriously, do you want to be like animal?? -__-

Conclusion: I'm not saying all of you must become vegetarian directly. At least try to safe animal life with being a vegetarian. Try to eat less meat twice a week first, then try to increase the times to be a vegetarian. Being a vegetarian won't bring negative effects for your life. I've proved it and I really enjoy my life for being a vegetarian. That's an easiest way to safe animal's life. Being a lovely person guys, bring happines to all the creature in the world. Because we are family. Being a vegetarian also safe the world from Global Warming
